Charles L. Chiecko, Jr., 80, of Becket, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center. Charles was born in Springfield, MA, on November 18, 1941 to the late Charles and Florence Kupka Chiecko. He graduated high school from Monson Academy in Monson, MA. Chuck moved to Boston in 1966 to attend Boston University and Boston Architectural College where he received a BA in Architecture. He moved to Becket in 1972 and became a principle in Fisher, Berry and Chiecko Architects of Pittsfield. He went on to create his own firm Charles Chiecko Architect. After that, he moved on to Dubose Associates of Hartford, CT where he was a senior project architect. After coming back to Pittsfield, he worked at Scalise-Knysh Associates. Finally, he founded the Architecture Team in Pittsfield.
He enjoyed everything aviation and was a licensed private pilot. He had a lifelong passion for learning, building and inventing. Chuck will be remembered for his inquisitive nature and kind soul. He had a contagious enthusiasm for life and will be greatly missed.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, the former Patricia Doshna, whom he married on January 12, 1978. He is survived by his brothers, James of East Longmeadow, and Gregory of Chicopee. He is predeceased by his parents and Brother Richard, formerly of Chicopee.
