Loving Brother, Uncle, Godfather
DRACUT
Michael J. Lagasse passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2022 at the age of 59. Michael was a son of Lawrence and Agnes (Milne) Lagasse. He was born in Lowell on October 4, 1962. Michael was the 6th of 9 children born to Lawrence and Agnes. He was raised in Lowell and attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a 1981 graduate of Lowell High School. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. After high school Michael enlisted in the Marine Corps. Reserves and his love of his country was always evident. Mike was a truck driver for many years and most recently was employed at Bomaco Automotive Warehouse in Fitchburg, MA. He was also employed by IBEW Local 104 for 10 years as well as Roma Pizza in Lowell. Mike, with his gentle and caring personality, made friends with everyone he encountered. Mike always greeted everyone with a smile and kind words. Michael lived in Lowell until moving to Dracut 20 years ago. His siblings, Susan, Bobbie, Larry, Paul, Mark, Martin, and Marilyn agree on two truths; Mike was the life of the party and he was Mom’s favorite. Mike and his mother shared a close bond that led them to be roommates until Pat’s death in 2020. True to his nurturing nature, he cared for his mother when she was ill and was by her side the whole time. Mike was a jokster. He loved family gatherings and holidays and could always be counted on to provide the laughs. Michael loved a good cigar and to enjoy it surrounded by good company. Like a loyal Bostonian, Mike rooted for the Sox and was a lifelong fan. When he wasn’t working, Mike enjoyed fishing. What Mike enjoyed most was spending time with his family. Gatherings with his siblings, and nieces and nephews was what brought Michael true joy. He loved being an uncle and he was proud to be the Godfather to many of his nieces and nephews. Michael will be missed by so many in his community, by so many co-workers, by his numerous customers, and by his loving family. Michael was one of a kind.
Michael is survived by his siblings, Susan Perry of Franklin, NH, Bobbie Ayotte and her husband David of Epsom, NH, Larry Lagasse and his wife Susan Ewing-Lagasse of Winchendon, Paul Lagasse of Lowell, Mary Toom and her husband Paul of Laconia, NH, Mark Lagasse of Dracut, Martin Lagasse and his wife Colleen of Chester, NH, and Marilyn Kierstead and her husband Donald of Canaan, NH; many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and his aunt, Helen Pare.
