TOWNSEND: William F. “Bill” Biswanger, 71, loving spouse, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, respiratory therapist and outdoorsman, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after a courageous battle with COVID-19. Bill was born May 28, 1950 to the late Albert and Cynthia (Parshley) Biswanger and grew up in Medford. He graduated from Medford High school class of 1969, where he held many records in baseball. Bill then continued his education at Newbury College graduating in 1973. He moved to Townsend in 1984 where he has lived for 35 years. Bill was proud of his career as respiratory therapist for over 50 years. He also served his community as a firefighter, EMT, and owner of Harbor Home Healthcare Company. Bill’s love for the outdoors was like no other which came from spending many summers at Brantwood Camp during his youth. He was everyone’s go to for the best fishing spots around and wrote an outdoors column for the Lowell Sun for 34 years. He was a lifetime member and former President of the Townsend Rod and Gun Club, and always said the club was one of his favorite places on earth. He was a New England Sports enthusiast, forever yelling at the TV during any Boston Red Sox or New England Patriots games. Anyone who knew Bill was touched by his kindness and humor. He loved his family and friends and adored all 12 of his grandchildren. He truly was a remarkable person and will be missed by so many who loved him. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife Jean M. (Bedard) Biswanger; his daughters, Sandy Oser and her husband, John of Ashby, Lori Edwards of NC, Brooke Biswanger of Thornton, NH; his stepchildren, Julie Riley of New Ipswich, NH, Jodi Taubert of Florida, Jill Taubert of Quincy and William Taubert of Townsend; his brothers, Robert Biswanger and his wife Julie of Burlington, Kenneth Biswanger and his significant other Linda Bedinger of Gardner, his sister Carol Seidlich of Leominster; his twelve grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as his extended family and an abundance of friends.
Bill’s family will receive family and friends at calling hours 4-7PM Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (Rte 119) Townsend Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday on the Funeral Home. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford will be held privately.
