Winter storm warning for parts of the state
THURSDAY
Today is the calm before the winter storm! Enjoy plenty of sunshine today with seasonable highs in the upper 30s. Dry weather will hold on until after midnight.
WINTER STORM FRIDAY
A fast moving nor’easter will affect southern New England on Friday. Snow will arrive between 2-5AM, with the worst of it for the morning commute. We’re expecting 3-6″ from the North Shore to Boston and parts of Southeastern MA where we have a WINTER STORM WATCH. A higher band of snow will fall across parts of southeastern MA south of Boston and away from the coast. This is where we have a WINTER STORM WARNING with the potential for 6-7″ of snow. It looks like 1-3″ in northwest Worcester County area into southern NH and VT. Snow will lighten and come to an end by late afternoon. Right now we aren’t concerned with rain mixing in, making it a plowable snow that is also ideal for making snowmen! Snow showers will taper off by midday. The worst of the road conditions will be in the morning, but there still could be some slippery spots in the afternoon on untreated surfaces.
WEEKEND IN VIEW
Any snow that falls Friday will still be on the ground through the weekend. We will see plenty of sunshine Saturday, highs will struggle to reach the freezing mark in the upper 20s. Sunday will be a cold start, but highs will rebound to the mid 40s. Another storm is heading our way bringing a wintry mix of snow, rain and maybe even ice. Be sure to check in with us through the weekend as we fine tune the forecast!
